Ensodata RPM Home Sleep Study Patient Education Video

You are beginning a 5-week guided adjustment process to optimize your Oral Appliance therapy.

This program combines:

  • Your custom Oral Appliance (OA)
  • The EnsoData Home Sleep Test (HST)
  • The SnoreLab app

Together, these tools help us track your sleep, measure your progress, and safely adjust your device to achieve the best results.

About Your Oral Appliance

Your Oral Appliance is a custom medical device worn during sleep. It gently moves your lower jaw forward to:

  • Improve airflow
  • Reduce snoring
  • Treat sleep apnea

It is designed specifically for you to provide comfort, effectiveness, and long-term compliance.

Important Safety & Care

  • Follow all instructions included with your device
  • Do NOT expose to extreme heat
  • Clean your appliance daily as instructed
  • Bring your appliance to all follow-up visits

Daily Use Requirements (CRITICAL)

  • Wear your Oral Appliance every night
  • Use your Enso HST device every night
  • Track snoring using SnoreLab
  • Follow your adjustment schedule

Consistent nightly use is required for accurate results and successful treatment.

Using the SnoreLab App

Download from the App Store or Google Play.

Before You Start

  • Begin using SnoreLab 1–2 weeks before receiving your OA (if possible)
  • This gives you a baseline

During Treatment

  • It takes about 3 nights for accurate readings
  • Goal:
    • Reduce snoring to the “quiet” range
    • Target snore score: 10–15

⚠️ IMPORTANT:

  • SnoreLab does NOT diagnose or treat sleep apnea
  • You must still complete your sleep testing with the appliance

Using the EnsoData Home Sleep Test (HST) Each Night

  • Use the HST device with your Oral Appliance
  • Record a full night of sleep

CELESTE App Tips

  • Keep the app OPEN overnight
  • If you leave bed, take your phone (Bluetooth disconnects at 5–10 ft)
  • Wear the ring at the base of your finger (NOT fingertip)
  • Delete old recordings if prompted (data is saved automatically)

5-Week Program Timeline

Need Help?

If you have questions or issues:

  1. Watch the instructional video on our website www.comprehensivesleepcare.com
  2. TEXT our DME team at the main number 703-729-3420  (DO NOT CALL)

Why Tracking Matters

We use your AHI (Apnea-Hypopnea Index) from the Enso HST as the most important measure of treatment success.

  • AHI tells us how well your sleep apnea is being treated
  • SnoreLab helps track snoring trends, but does NOT replace sleep testing
  • Even if snoring improves, a sleep study is still required

How to Use & Adjust Your Oral Appliance

First 2–3 Nights

  • Wear your appliance at the starting position (1mm)
  • Do NOT adjust yet

Adjustment Schedule

  • After night 2–3:
    • Advance 5 turns every 5th night
    • If uncomfortable: advance only 1–4 turns
  • Always adjust both sides evenly

When to STOP Adjusting

Do NOT advance further if:

  • Snore score is 10–15 or lower AND
  • You feel rested and alert
  • You experience pain that does not go away within 20 minutes

Important Tips

  • Do NOT rush adjustments
  • Advancing too quickly can cause:
    • Jaw pain
    • Worsening sleep apnea

If You Experience Discomfort

If Pain Occurs

  • Remove the appliance
  • Stop use until pain resolves
  • Resume at 5 turns back from last setting
  • Restart slowly: 1 turn every 3–5 nights

If pain returns → this is your maximum comfortable setting

Using Your AM Aligner (Morning Use)

This device helps prevent bite changes.

Instructions

  1. Wait 15–30 minutes after removing OA
  2. Insert aligner over upper teeth
  3. Gently guide lower jaw into position
  4. Lightly squeeze (DO NOT clench)
  5. Continue for 5–10 minutes until normal bite returns

If needed:

  • Use a warm compress or shower to relax the jaw

Possible Side Effects

These are usually temporary:

  • Mild tooth or gum discomfort
  • Increased saliva (early on)
  • Jaw tightness during adjustments
  • Temporary bite changes
  • Jaw joint discomfort

👉 Contact us if symptoms are severe or persistent

Final Reminders

  • Nightly use is mandatory
  • OA + HST must be used together
  • This is a guided, data-driven process
  • Your participation ensures the best outcome
