About Tetyana Chmyrova:
Tetyana Chmyrova is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, specializing in sleep medicine. She brings a compassionate, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based approach to patient care.
Originally from Ukraine, Tetyana immigrated to the United States at age 16. Her personal journey of learning a new language and adapting to a different culture deepened her empathy and strengthened her ability to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Tetyana began her healthcare career in outpatient internal medicine, later expanding her clinical experience to inpatient internal medicine and oncology. She developed a strong interest in the relationship between sleep and overall health during her time as a bedside nurse in acute care, where she observed that disrupted sleep often compromised recovery. Consequently, she worked collaboratively to implement patient-centered strategies aimed at minimizing sleep fragmentation during hospitalization, fostering a healing environment.
Her passion for sleep medicine deepened during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she personally witnessed the toll that sleep deprivation took on healthcare providers. She also completed a clinical rotation at UCHealth’s Pulmonary Vascular Disease Clinic, where she focused on pulmonary hypertension and the critical role that diagnosing and treating sleep-disordered breathing plays in preventing or mitigating its progression. Her graduate presentation centered on improving CPAP adherence in older adults with obstructive sleep apnea, reflecting the significant impact this area of study had on shaping her career path.
Before joining Comprehensive Sleep Care Center, Tetyana practiced pulmonology and sleep medicine in New Jersey. She is dedicated to restoring health through quality sleep by integrating evidence-based practices into individualized treatment plans that align with each patient’s values, lifestyle, and specific health needs.
Tetyana believes that good sleep is fundamental—not optional—and strives to ensure each patient feels heard, respected, and supported on their journey to better sleep.
