With a background in neurology, I became interested in sleep medicine because of the curiously active brain during sleep and the dynamic processes that occur during this period. Not only are our brains going through impressive changes as we sleep, but nearly every other organ system can be affected as well. I take great pride in carefully listening to my patients’ description of their sleep issues. I then combine this with diagnostic tools including lab work, smart device apps, wearable technology/activity trackers, and a sleep study to tailor an individual approach to improve health and quality of life. Sleep medicine is a team approach, and I enjoy working with my patients’ referring and other treating physicians to ensure optimal patient care. I enjoy being an active part of the northern Virginia community and appreciate the opportunity to continue delivering high-quality care to my patients.
