Consult and Center Sleep Study
Diagnostics and Consultation
To diagnose your sleep disorder, we start with our ears
In-person consultation with our sleep physician
It starts with your problem, not our solution. After hearing from you about your medical history, current health issues, and your individual sleep or lack of sleep experience, our sleep doctor will do a brief exam of your mouth, nose, and throat which may reveal any issue such as nasal obstruction, or enlarged tonsils. Our doctor will then know how to start customizing a treatment plan and determine if the next step may be a sleep study, as some sleep disorders may be treated without a sleep study, while other sleep disorders require a sleep study to provide an accurate diagnosis and determine its severity.
Sleep studies are helpful in diagnosing the following sleep disorders:
- Sleep apnea, or sleep-related breathing disorders
- Seizure disorders during sleep
- Restless leg syndrome and other sleep-related periodic limb movements
- Sleep disorders, such as narcolepsy that can cause extreme tiredness during the day
Beyond Yawns: Signs you may need a sleep study
If you need copious amounts of caffeine just to get through the day, and you feel persistently exhausted, you already know there’s something amiss with your sleep. But a lack of good sleep can manifest itself in other ways too. If you’ve ever experienced any of the following problems found below, it could be an underlying sleep disorder.
- Loud snoring
- Nocturnal snorting, gasping or choking
- Disrupted sleep
- Morning headaches
- High blood pressure
- Obesity or trouble losing weight
- Irritability
- Depression & anxiety
- Cognitive impairment – difficulty concentrating, memory

Do it for yourself, your child, or anyone who sleeps next to you, trust us – you’ll feel newly confident in wishing each other a good night
Overnight sleep study performed at our center
Sleep studies are tests that measure how well you sleep and how your body responds to sleep problems. Your sleep will be monitored throughout the night by our highly trained and experienced sleep technologists to obtain a polysomnogram – which means different aspects of your sleep patterns, not just sleep interruptions, but also important physiologic parameters including the amount of airflow during breathing, the amount of oxygen in your blood, heart rate, brain waves, eye and leg movements, and sleep stages and cycles. A sleep study is a non-invasive and pain-free procedure – so no need to worry.
After a full night’s sleep is recorded, the data will be tabulated by a technologist and presented to our sleep physician for interpretation. Depending on your physician’s orders, you may be given therapy during the course of the study, which may include oxygen or a device called continuous positive airway pressure.
